Super League 2026 – Round 26 preview, predictions and tips
We are being truly spoilt this weekend. 1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th in the penultimate round of the regular season is as good as it gets, especially with the League Leaders’ Shield still up for grabs.
It’s winner take all between Leeds and Wigan, and it should be the game of the year so far.
On any other weekend, Leigh vs St Helens could have been the game of the round. The Leopards can end Saints’ season this week, but can the Red Vee keep their campaign alive as they look to avoid missing the play-offs for the first time in Super League history.

Thursday 3rd September – Bradford Bulls vs Castleford Tigers
Form guide
Bradford’s 28-18 loss at Toulouse last week was their 11th in 12 games. They’re now two points adrift at the bottom of the table.
Castleford were hammered 34-6 at home by Catalans Dragons for their fifth defeat in their last six games. They remain 10th.

My prediction – Bradford Bulls 14-24 Castleford Tigers
Both of these sides are just counting down to the end of the season. I can’t back Cas with any conviction, but they are the slightly better of the two teams, so I’m leaning towards them.
Betting tips
Bradford are slight favourites here, so I’m getting straight on a Castleford win at 11/10. I’ll back Louis Senior for an anytime try as well, at 5/4.
Friday 4th September – Toulouse Olympique vs Hull FC
Form guide
Toulouse saw off Bradford last weekend in a 28-18 win, which made it back-to-back victories. They remain 9th.
Hull FC were edged out 16-14 by Warrington last week. They remain 11th, but could still finish bottom.

My prediction – Toulouse Olympique 18-10 Hull FC
This one could go either way, but Toulouse have had an impressive first season back in Super League and they’ll want to sign off at home on a high.
Betting tips
I’m backing under 50.5 points in this one, which is 10/11. I’ll get on Olly Ashall-Bott for an anytime try when the market opens as well.
Friday 4th September – Hull KR vs Huddersfield Giants
Form guide
Hull KR were humbled 46-0 by Wigan Warriors last week, albeit with a severely under-strength team. They’re 6th, and a win this week will all but guarantee a play-off place based on their points difference.
Huddersfield continued their remarkable turnaround with a 30-18 win over Leigh Leopards last time out. That made it five wins from six games, and saw them climb to 12th.

My prediction – Hull KR 24-16 Huddersfield Giants
It’s do or die time for the Robins, and I think they’ll get the job done here. The Giants have been outstanding in recent weeks and I wouldn’t be shocked if they win here, but Hull KR know what they need to do.
Betting tips
I’m not completely convinced by Hull KR’s -14 handicap, so I’ll back a pair of anytime tryscorers instead. Tom Davies and Jez Litten will be my go-tos.
Friday 4th September – Leigh Leopards vs St Helens
Form guide
Leigh suffered a surprise 30-18 loss to Huddersfield last week, but they remain 5th. They’re still not mathematically confirmed in the top six, but a win here will secure their spot.
St Helens were hammered 34-6 by Leeds last weekend, which put a big dent in their play-off hopes. They’re only two points behind Hull KR, but a loss here will all but seal their fate.

My prediction – Leigh Leopards 30-18 St Helens
I can see the Leopards putting the final nail in Saints’ coffin this week. They’ve done well to stay in touch, but this week looks one hurdle too far.
Betting tips
Again, I’m not completely convinced by the -14 handicap here, so I’m backing Leigh to win by 8-14 points at 10/3. I’ll get on Umyla Hanley for an anytime try as well.
Saturday 5th September – Wakefield Trinity vs Warrington Wolves
Form guide
Wakefield ended a run of three straight defeats to beat York 28-12 last weekend. They remain 4th, and a top six spot is now guaranteed.
Warrington’s narrow 16-14 win over Hull FC made it six wins in a row. A win here will secure 3rd, and they can still sneak into the top two.

My prediction – Wakefield Trinity 14-28 Warrington Wolves
Warrington have been in great form recently, and I can see them keeping it going here. Trinity have had a magnificent season, but they’ve tailed off in recent weeks, and I can see them getting beaten again.
Betting tips
Wakefield are favourites here, so I’m straight on Warrington to win at 8/5. I’m backing Matty Ashton for an anytime try when the market opens as well.
Saturday 5th September – Catalans Dragons vs York Knights
Form guide
Catalans spoilt Castleford’s centenary party last weekend with a 34-6 victory in West Yorkshire. They remain 8th, where they’ve hovered for most of the season.
York slipped to 13th after their 28-12 loss at Wakefield, which was their sixth defeat in seven games.

My prediction – Catalans Dragons 28-10 York Knights
The Dragons will fancy themselves in their final home game of the season as they look to send their fans off with a smile. It’s been an underwhelming campaign for Catalans, but they’d expect to win this one.
Betting tips
I’ll back Catalans with a -14 handicap at 10/11. It’s Tommy Makinson’s final home game too, and I’m backing him to mark it with an anytime try when the market opens.
Saturday 5th September – Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors
Form guide
Leeds made light work of St Helens last weekend in a 34-6 win. They’ve won five of their last six games to remain top.
Wigan had a comfortable 46-0 home win over an under-strength Hull KR last week to make it 13 straight wins in Super League. They’re 2nd, level on points with the Rhinos.

My prediction – Leeds Rhinos 12-14 Wigan Warriors
This could go down as an all-time Super League classic, and the only thing separating these two at the moment is points difference. They both have very winnable fixtures in the final round, so this is surely winner take all. I’m leaning slightly towards the Warriors, given their superior form at the moment.
Betting tips
Leeds are slight favourites, so I’m tipping Wigan to win at 11/10. I’m backing Zach Eckersley for an anytime try when the market opens as well, and I’m trying an outside bet here, which is a draw/Wigan in the half-time/full-time market at a huge 16/1.
