Super League 2026 – Round 20 preview, predictions and tips
It’s Rivals Round again in Super League, just three weeks after the last one (don’t get me started on that). On paper, there are some great games to look forward to this weekend, but I’m just hoping a few of them are closer than they were at Magic Weekend.
Hull FC and Hull KR get us underway tonight, and with the Robins wobbling this year, the Black and Whites have a great chance to put one over on their neighbours. Then again, they’ve not been pulling up any trees themselves.
Wigan face Saints on Friday for the fourth time this year, but if the bookies’ odds are anything to go by, this will be a routine home win. Never write off the Saints though, despite all their injuries.
Elsewhere, Leigh and Warrington should be a cracker if the Wire can perform like they did last weekend, while Leeds should coast past an injury-hit Bradford on Sunday.

Thursday 23rd July – Hull FC vs Hull KR
Form guide
Hull FC were beaten 32-22 at home by Leigh Leopards last weekend to remain 13th. It was the Black and Whites’ fifth straight loss.
Hull KR dropped out of the top six with their 34-12 loss at Warrington, which was a third defeat in four games for the reigning champions.

My prediction – Hull FC 10-18 Hull KR
Hull KR are on a bad run of form right now, but I still expect them to get the better of their neighbours. The Black and Whites are having such a poor season, the owners came out and apologised earlier this week, so it’s difficult to see anything other than a Robins bounce back.
Betting tips
Hull KR should be safe with a -4 handicap. I’ll back them in the half-time/full-time market too, at 10/11.
Friday 24th July – Wigan Warriors vs St Helens
Form guide
Wigan have really found their form recently, and their 24-10 win at Huddersfield was their seventh in a row in Super League. They’ve also closed the gap on league leaders Leeds to just two points.
St Helens are having a poor year by their standards, but they saw off Cata;ans Dragons last week with a 34-18 win at home to climb back up to 6th.

My prediction – Wigan Warriors 24-16 St Helens
With four first teamers back this week, plus the fact they’re in fine form anyway, I can see Wigan getting the win here. Saints will give them a battle as they always do in the derby, but the Warriors should have too much for them.
Betting tips
Wigan have been given a -18 handicap, which looks huge to me. This is a derby after all, and they only beat Saints by two points when they met three weeks ago. Instead, I’m going for a bit of an outsider, with the Warriors priced at 4/1 to win by 8-14 points. I’ll back Zach Eckersley for an anytime try as well when the market opens.
Friday 24th July – Wakefield Trinity vs Castleford Tigers
Form guide
Wakefield are flying this year and a first Old Trafford appearance is a distinct possibility. Their 26-12 win at Bradford last week was their fifth win in a row, and it leaves them in 3rd – just two points behind Leeds at the top of the table.
Castleford pulled off an outstanding win over Leeds last weekend (36-34) to end a run of three straight losses. They’ve climbed to 10th with that win.

My prediction – Wakefield Trinity 30-12 Castleford Tigers
The Tigers are a funny old team, and you never know what you’re going to get from them. Their win over Leeds last week came completely out of the blue, but they’ve lost more games than they’ve won this year and I see Wakefield as a genuine contender for a Grand Final place, so I’m backing the home side.
Betting tips
Will Tate and Josh Rourke have been in fine tryscoring form, and I’m backing both to cross the line again this week.
Saturday 25th July – York Knights vs Huddersfield Giants
Form guide
After three straight wins, the Knights were beaten 30-22 by Toulouse last weekend. They’ve slipped a place to 11th with that loss.
Huddersfield put up a spirited display against Wigan last week, but fell short in a 24-10 loss. That was their 12th defeat in a row, and they remain rock bottom.
Team news
Squads haven’t been announced yet, but York Knights will have Tom Inman available after he escaped a ban at the disciplinary this week.
Huddersfield were less lucky at the disciplinary, with Taane Milne picking up a three-match ban.
My prediction – York Knights 26-12 Huddersfield Giants
I can’t see past the Knights in this one. The Giants have been woeful all year, while York have picked up some notable wins and should be licking their lips here.
Betting tips
York should be safe with a -8 handicap at 10/11. I’ll back David Nofoaluma for an anytime try as well.
Saturday 25th July – Leigh Leopards vs Warrington Wolves
Form guide
Leigh saw off Hull FC last weekend in a 32-22 win to climb up to 5th. It was a seventh win in eight games for the Leopards.
Warrington were outstanding in their 34-12 win over Hull KR. They remain 4th, but they’ve given themselves a four-point cushion to the sides below the top six.
Team news
No news from the Leigh Leopards camp so far this week. Tesi Niu remains a long-term absentee, but Bailey Hodgson has an outside chance of making a comeback this week.
Warrington Wolves will be without Max Wood, who has joined Hull FC on loan. Josh Thewlis remains out injured for at least a couple more weeks.
My prediction – Leigh Leopards 18-14 Warrington Wolves
Leigh gave Warrington a battering at Magic Weekend, and whilst I can see this being closer, I’m backing the Leopards to get the two points again.
Betting tips
I think this game could go either way, so I’m avoiding the win and handicap markets. Instead, I’ll back David Armstrong and Umyla Hanley for anytime tries again, as they’ve both been doing the business for me recently.
Saturday 25th July – Toulouse Olympique vs Catalans Dragons
Form guide
Toulouse’s fine form continued with a 30-22 win over York last weekend. It was a third straight win for Olympique, who remain 9th, but just two points behind the Dragons.
Catalans, meanwhile, were beaten 34-18 at St Helens to suffer a fifth defeat in their last seven. The top six is well out of reach, but they’ll be looking anxiously over their shoulder now as well, with Toulouse and Castleford just two points behind them.

Again, squads are yet to be announced, so nothing from Toulouse Olympique yet.
Catalans Dragons have Solomona Faataape and Josh Allen available after they both escaped bans at the disciplinary earlier this week.
My prediction – Toulouse Olympique 30-10 Catalans Dragons
The Dragons have had some horror shows recently, including the 60 points they conceded to Toulouse three weeks ago. I can’t see Olympique hitting those heights again, but I expect them to win, and to do it fairly convincingly based on current form.

Toulous are too well priced to ignore in the half-time/full-time market at 5/4. I’ll back Olly Ashall-Bott for an anytime try again when the market opens as well.
Sunday 26th July – Leeds Rhinos vs Bradford Bulls
Form guide
The Rhinos were surprisingly beaten 36-34 at Castleford last weekend to end a run of seven straight wins. They remain top, but the gao to Wigan and Wakefield has been cut to two points.
Meanwhile, Bradford, were beaten 26-12 by Wakefield to slip a place to 12th.
Team news
Leeds Rhinos will definitely be without Chris Hankinson, who failed his HIA in last weekend’s loss to Castleford. Danny Levi was stretchered off in that game, so he’s almost certainly out too.
Bradford Bulls have lost Waqa Blake, Cameron Bate and Mitch Souter to season-ending injuries. Loghan Lewis and Dan Russell have both been ruled out for this week’s game too, with coach Kurt Haggerty revealing they’re down to 18 fit players.
My prediction – Leeds Rhinos 42-6 Bradford Bulls
I’m expecting a response from the Rhinos after last week’s surprise loss at Castleford. They put 50 points on Bradford at Magic Weekend, and the Bulls have lost a few players to injury since then, so this should be a comfortable home win.
Betting tips
I’m backing Maika Sivo and Harry Newman for anytime tries when the market opens. The odds on two singles might not be great, so I’ll double up on this one.
