Super League 2026 – Round 19 preview, predictions and tips

Super League 2026 – Round 19 preview, predictions and tips

And just like that, we’re now into the final third of the season. Every week I say how quickly it goes, but it really is flying by.

For all the critics of the expanded competition this year, it’s refreshing to see the promoted sides all sitting above the bottom two. Hopefully it stays that way, and at least one of them should get two points this week with Toulouse and York playing each other.

Elsewhere, Warrington vs Hull KR isn’t the match ot might have been a few weeks ago, but it’s an intriguing battle where we could learn a lot about both sides’ chances of doing something at the business end of the year.

And how will Saints bounce back after last week’s mauling against Toulouse?

Let’s see what I think (for what it’s worth)…

*All odds are taken from Paddy Power and correct at time of writing on 15th July 2026.

Thursday 16th July – Bradford Bulls vs Wakefield Trinity

Form guide

The Bulls toppled Huddersfield 30-14 last week to end a run of four straight losses. They sit 11th in the table heading into this weekend.

Wakefield picked up a magnificent 20-6 win at Hull KR to climb to 3rd. It was Trinity’s fourth win in a row.

Team news

My prediction – Bradford Bulls 12-26 Wakefield Trinity

Bradford have done ok on their return to Super League and picked up the odd win here and there, but against a side with genuine Grand Final aspirations, I can’t see anything other than an away win.

Betting tips

At 13/10, Josh Rourke looks a good price for an anytime try. Will Tate is 7/5 in the same market, which I’m also backing.

Friday 17th July – St Helens vs Catalans Dragons

Form guide

Saints were humiliated 46-0 at home by Toulouse last weekend, but more importantly they’ve dropped out of the top six. They’re on a run of two wins in seven games.

Catalans aren’t doing much better, having won just two of their last six. They were beaten 28-6 by Leeds last week, and they sit in 8th.

Team news

My prediction – St Helens 18-12 Catalans Dragons

This one’s difficult to call, with both teams horribly out of form and horrible to watch. I’m leaning towards Saints, purely because I can;t see them being as bad as they were last week for a second game in a row. There needs to be a response and maybe they can muster one here.

Betting tips

God help me, but I’ll back Saints with a -4 handicap at 10/11. I’ll also get on them in thr half-time/full-time market at 11/10.

Friday 17th July – Huddersfield Giants vs Wigan Warriors

Form guide

The Giants’ latest beating was a 30-14 defeat at home to Bradford last week. It’s now 11 straight losses for Huddersfield, and 16 in 18, but one of their victories came away at Wigan back in March.

Wigan, meanwhile, made it six straight wins with their 30-18 win over Warrington last week. They remain 2nd, but only above Wakefield on points difference.

Team news

My prediction – Huddersfield Giants 6-36 Wigan Warriors

Even with all their injuries, I can’t see Wigan not winning this comfortably. This Giants side is a contender for Super League’s worst ever side and they’ve already pulled off one miracle by beating the Warriors on the road. Another one this week looks a step too far.

Betting tips

Wigan should be more than safe with a -18 handicap. I’ll back Zach Eckersley for an anytime try again when the market opens, but I’m not expecting great odds.

Saturday 18th July – Warrington Wolves vs Hull KR

Form guide

Warrington suffered a third defeat in four games in last week’s 30-18 loss at Wigan. They’ve dropped to 4th in the table.

Hull KR are one place and two points behind them after a 20-6 loss at home to Wakefield last week. The Robins have lost two of their last three games.

Team news

Squads haven’t been announced yet, but Warrington coach Sam Burgess has confirmed that Cai Taylor-Wray, Joe Philbin and Jordy Crowther are all in contention to return this week.

Hull KR are also expecting three players back this week – Dean Hadley, Tom Amone and Arthur Mourgue. Peta Hiku is ruled out through suspension.

My prediction – Warrington Wolves 14-18 Hull KR

This feels too close to call as neither side are flying right now. I’m leaning towards the reigning champions though, but not with any great confidence.

Betting tips

I think this will be a tight one, so I’m backing Hull KR to win by 1-7 points at 4/1. Nothing else is jumping out right now, so I’ll back Mikey Lewis for an anytime try when the market opens.

Saturday 18th July – Hull FC vs Leigh Leopards

Form guide

The Black and Whites were beaten 20-16 at York last week to suffer their fourth straight loss. They’ve dropped to 13th as a result.

Leigh continue to fly up the table, although they were made to sweat for their 24-18 win over Castleford. Still, their sixth win in seven games has lifted them into the top six.

Team news

Squads haven’t been announced for this one yet, and there are no updates from Hull FC.

Leigh Leopards could have Frankie Halton back this week, but Bailey Hodgson will be missing again after being hospitalised by an infection that ruled him out last weekend.

My prediction – Hull FC 12-22 Leigh Leopards

The Leopards are soaring towards the end-of-season play-offs and they’ll fancy their chances this week against an out-of-form Hull FC side, whose season has been over for weeks.

Betting tips

There’s nothing remotely tempting available at the moment, so instead I’ll be backing David Armstrong and Umyla Hanley for anytime tries when the market opens.

Saturday 18th July – Toulouse Olympique vs York Knights

Form guide

Toulouse followed up their thrashing of Catalans Dragons with a 46-0 battering of St Helens last weekend. They’re 9th in the table, with one eye on their French counterparts, who are four points above them in 8th.

Fellow promoted side York made it three wins on the spin with their 20-16 win over Hull FC last week. They’re 10th, but level on points with this week’s opponents.

Team news

Again, it’s too early for squad news and there’s no news out of the Toulouse camp so far.

York will have Jack Martin and Kieran Buchanan available, after they both escaped with fines at the disciplinary this week.

My prediction – Toulouse Olympique 40-20 York Knights

I don’t want to write York off after their impressive run of late, but the manner of Toulouse’s recent wins convinces me they’ll get the job done in this one. I can’t see them winning 46-0 at Saints and then losing at home to the Knights, although stranger things have happened this season.

Betting tips

I think Toulouse with a -14 handicap is doing York a bit of a disservice, but it tallies with my score prediction, so I’m happy to back it at 11/10. I’ll also get on Olly Ashall-Bott for an anytime try, with the fullback in outstanding form this year.

Sunday 19th July – Castleford Tigers vs Leeds Rhinos

Form guide

The Tigers were much improved in their 24-18 loss at Leigh last week, but ultimately fell to their fifth defeat in six to remain 12th.

Leeds made light work of Catalans in the south of France. Their 28-6 win was their seventh in a row, and they remain four points clear at the top of the table.

Team news

Castleford lost Krystian Mapapalangi in the warm-up and Jordan Lane during last week’s game, with both unlikely to feature this week.

Leeds lost Cooper Jenkins and Mikolaj Oledzki during their win in France, but both stand a good chance of being back this week.

My prediction – Castleford Tigers 10-40 Leeds Rhinos

Leeds should win this one fairly comfortably. The Tigers already have one eye firmly on next season, while the Rhinos are going for the League Leaders’ Shield and the Grand Final, so I’d expect this to be pretty routine.

Betting tips

Leeds should be safe with a -18 handicap at 10/11. I’ll also back Harry Newman for an anytime try when the market opens.
