Toulouse Olympique 2026 season preview

2025 recap

Toulouse were one of three Championship teams to gain promotion to Super League for 2026, but they’re arguably the only ones who acheived it through their on-pitch performance.

A 10-8 win over York Knights in the Championship Grand Final was enough to earn Olympique a second shot at the big time (after a single campaign in 2022), and with it came their first silverware since 2021.

They came mightily close in 2023 and 2024, losing both of those Grand Finals. However, they clinched it when it mattered most last season, with their victory arguably proving the difference between another year in the second tier and a top flight place.

2025 position: 2nd in Championship (Grand Final winners)

Key signings

AJ Wallace (Hull KR), Brendan Hands (Parramatta Eels), Luke Polselli (London Broncos), Mathieu Pons (Oldham), Tyler Dupree (Wigan – season-long loan), Henry O’Kane (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Cesar Rouge (Toulouse)

Key departures

Greg Richards (Barrow Raiders), Dom Peyroux (Albi), Radean Robinson (Central Queensland Capras)

Players to watch

Tyler Dupree has had a mixed couple of years, but the Wigan loanee can be a big asset to Olympique if he’s in form. The 25-year-old played a key part in the Warriors’ quadruple success in 2024, before slipping down the pecking order in 2025. A loan move to the south of France could be just the boost he needs though.

Olly Ashall-Bott had his best tryscoring season by some distance in 2025, with 23 tries in 22 games. The fullback is entering his fifth season with Toulouse, and with most of his career being spent in the Championship, 2026 will be a big test for him to show he can make the step up and be a Super League fullback.

Young gun

AJ Wallace has finally found a permanent home after six loan moves in the last two seasons, including a spell with Toulouse in 2025. This year will be the second rower’s first taste of Super League, and he’ll be keen to show Hull KR what they’re missing after they let him leave without playing a first team game.

Our prediction – 13th

Toulouse’s aim for the season will surely be avoiding the wooden spoon, and I think that’s what they’ll do – just. Anything higher than 10th would be incredible, but this year will probably just be about establishing themselves as a competitive team.
