Super League 2026 – Round 2 preview, predictions and tips

Super League 2026 – Round 2 preview, predictions and tips

Well, Round 1 was a cracker! If that’s the blueprint now, we’re in for a great year in Super League.

York, Warrington and Hull FC all had record crowds, while two of the three newly-promoted teams picked up wins.

It’s a slightly reduced schedule this week, thanks to Hull KR’s participation in the WCC, but we’ve still got 6 top games to look forward to…

*All odds are taken from Paddy Power and correct at time of writing on 18th February 2026.

Friday 20th February – Bradford Bulls vs Catalans Dragons – Bartercard Odsal Stadium

Form guide

The Bulls were the only newly-promoted side not to win in Round One, but they can take a lot of positives from their narrow 27-20 loss at Hull FC.

Meanwhile, Catalans got off to a good start with a 26-10 win over Huddersfield in Perpignan.

Team news

Sam Hallas and Ethan Ryan come into the Bulls‘ 21-man-squad in place of the injured Jayden Okunbor and Dan Russell.

Alexis Lis replaces the suspended Benjamin Garcia for the Dragons this week.

My prediction – Bradford Bulls 12-20 Catalans Dragons

Bradford showed they can be competitive last week, but I can’ see ‘t see their first win coming here. Catalans had an impressive win against the Giants, and they can start to build some momentum against a team they’d expect to beat.

Betting tips

The Dragons are just 3/10, so I prefer the look of them in the half-time/full-time market at 4/6. I’ll also be getting on Tommy Makinson again in the anytime try market.

Friday 20th February – Leeds Rhinos vs York Knights – AMT Headingley Stadium

Form guide

The Rhinos were disappointing in their 26-14 loss at Leigh Leopards in Round One.

Meanwhile, the Knights had the perfect start in their first ever Super League game, as they beat reigning champions Hull KR, 19-18.

Team news

The Rhinos welcome back five players from injury this week. Maika Sivo and Jeremiah Mata’utia are expected to make their debuts for the club, while Cameron Smith, Jake Connor and Keenan Palasia are also available again.

John Sagaga replaces Jack Smith in York’s only change from Round One.

My prediction – Leeds Rhinos 32-10 York Knights

I know they picked up a great victory last week, but I can see York coming back down to earth with a bit of a bumo this week. The Rhinos will be smarting after their loss at Leigh, and I can see them putting a few points on here.

Betting tips

Leeds are just 1/20 for the win, so I won’t be touching that. Instead, I’ll be backing Maika Sivo and Harry Newman for anytime tries.

Friday 20th February – St Helens vs Leigh Leopards – BrewDog Stadium

Form guide

Saints lost their Super League opener last week, as they went down 24-14 to Warrington.

Meanwhile, Leigh had a great start at home, beating Leeds Rhinos 26-14.

Team news

St Helens make just one change to their squad from last week. Jack Welsby has been ruled out for around four months, in a bitter blow for Saints. His absence opens the door for Curtis Sironen to return to the squad.

Umyla Hanley returns to the Leigh squad for the first time in 2026.

My prediction – St Helens 14-20 Leigh Leopards

This game could really go either way, but I have a sneaky feeling that Leigh will edge it. The loss of Jack Welsby will be huge for Saints, and the Leopards have a chance to take full advantage.

Betting tips

Saints are slight favourites, so I’m getting straight on a Leigh win at 11/8. The 12/5 on Leigh in the half-time/full-time market looks too good to pass up as well.

Saturday 21st February – Toulouse Olympique vs Castleford Tigers – Stade Ernest Wallon

Form guide

Toulouse picked up a brilliant 18-16 win at Wakefield on their return to Super League.

Meanwhile, Castleford put up a good fight against Wigan, but went down 26-16 at home.

Team news

Squads haven’t been announced yet, but Toulouse Olympique are likely to go with the same side who beat Wakefield.

Castleford Tigers will make at least one change to their side after new signing Blake Taaffe was ruled out for the rest of 2026 with an ACL injury.

My prediction – Toulouse Olympique 10-16 Castleford Tigers

Despite the defeat, Cas showed some signs of promise against Wigan last week. Toulouse showed they can be competitive this year, but I think the Tigers’ Super League experience could prove the difference.

Betting tips

Cas are 8/15 in the outright market, so there’s more value for them in the half-time/full-time market at 11/10. I’m also backing Mikaele Ravalawa for an anytime try again after his debut effort last week.

Saturday 21st February – Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC – The Brick Community Stadium

Form guide

Wigan looked very solid in their opening day win over Castleford, who they beat 26-16 on the road.

Hull FC got off to a winning start too, as they saw off newly-promoted Bradford Bulls, 27-20.

Team news

Squads haven’t been announced yet, but Wigan will be without Jake Wardle for at least 10 weeks after he suffered an MCL injury against Castleford.

Hull FC will have Jed Cartwight back this week, but Jake Arthur is rated 50/50. Ligi Sao is suspended for the next two games.

My prediction – Wigan Warriors 24-16 Hull FC

The Warriors were impressive at Castleford, and their stars made a difference when it mattered. The Black and Whites will be a dangerous outfit in 2026, but I can’Wt see them getting the win here.

Betting tips

Wigan are just 1/6, so I like the look of Hull FC with a +14 handicap at 10/11, as I can’t see the Warriors running away with it. I’m also backing Zach Eckersley for an anytime try.

Sunday 22nd February – Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity – Accu Stadium

Form guide

Both these sides are looking for their first wins of the year in Round Two after opening day defeats.

The Giants were beaten 26-10 at Catalans Dragons, while Wakefield suffered a surprise 18-16 home loss to newly-promoted Toulouse Olympique.

Team news

Again, squads haven’t been announced yet, but Huddersfield will definitely be without Zac Woolford after he failed his HIA last weekend.

No new injuries as far as Wakefield are concerned. England winger Tom Johnstone is still a few weeks away from returning.

My prediction – Huddersfield Giants 10-18 Wakefield Trinity

I think the Giants could be in for a long, hard season, so I’m backing Wakefield to bounce back with a win in this one.

Betting tips

I’m getting straight on Wakefield with a -4 handicap at 10/11. The 11/10 in the half-time/full-time market is too good to pass up as well.
