Super League 2025 – Round 15 preview, predictions and tips

Super League 2025 – Round 15 preview, predictions and tips

It’s Round 15 of the Betfred Super League this week, and isn’t it great to see a Thursday night game again? Maybe not if you’re one of the fans having to travel on a school night, but for TV viewers, it’s a welcome bonus.

And with no NRL on Thursday either, all eyes in the RL world will be on West Yorkshire…

Thursday 19th June 2025 – Castleford Tigers vs Hull KR – Mend-A-Hose Jungle

Form guide

Castleford picked up an impressive win against Hull FC last weekend, in a 14-22 away victory. To say they’ve turned a corner might be a slight exaggeration, but they’ve been much improved recently and they’re just two points behind Catalans Dragons in 9th, having looked as though they were destined for 10th all year.

Cas won’t have many tougher tests than this though, as they take on table-topping Hull KR. The Robins followed up their Challenge Cup Final victory at Wembley with a 68-6 thrasing of Catalans last weekend, to make it 13 wins from 14 games in Super League.

Team news

Hugo Salabio replaces Muizz Mustapha for Castleford in the only change to last week’s squad.

Joe Burgess replaces Harvey Horne in the only change for Hull KR this week.

My prediction – Castleford Tigers 10-24 Hull KR

Even though Cas have picked up in recent weeks, Hull KR is another step up from most of the sides they’ve faced. I can’t see Rovers struggling too much here.

Betting tips

Tom Davies is the best-priced for a likely anytime try scorer, at 10/11. Hull KR are 5/6 with a -6.5 half-time handicap, which I also like the look of.

Friday 20th June 2025 – St. Helens vs Leeds Rhinos – Totally Wicked Stadium

Form guide

There’s a real feeling of doom and gloom among St. Helens fans at the moment, even though they’ve won three of their past four and conceded just eight points in those wins. Stats can be misleading though and when I tell you those victories have come against Catalans, Huddersfield and Salford, it starts to tell a more accurate story. Especially, when the loss amongst those games was a 34-4 humbling at Hull KR. Still, you can only beat what’s in front of you and Saints remain in 5th as we head towards the business end of the year.

As for Leeds, they’re absoulutely flying and last week’s 36-12 win over Warrington made it five straight wins – a run which started with a 17-4 win over Saints at Magic Weekend. The Rhinos sit 3rd in the table and a top eight finish looks nailed on at this stage.

Team news

St. Helens make two changes from last weekend. Joe Batchelor and George Whitby both suffered knocks at Salford, so Will Roberts and Jake Davies come into the 21. If either of them play, it’ll be their Saints and Super League debut.

Ethan Clark-Wood replaces Alfie Edgell in the only change for Leeds this week.

My prediction – St. Helens 12-20 Leeds Rhinos

The Rhinos have been in such great form recently that it’s hard to go against them. Saints have been rattling up the wins against sides lower down the table, but they’ll find Leeds a much tougher test this week.

Betting tips

The bookies have this one pretty much down the middle, so I’m jumping straight on Leeds in the outright market at 5/6. For better value, any winning margin for Leeds pays out at 4/1, so even if you go on 1-7, 8-14 and 15+, you’ll pick up a better return than the outright win’s paying.

Friday 20th June 2025 – Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors – DIY Kitchens Stadium

Form guide

Wakefield suffered a second straight four-point defeat last week, as they went down 20-24 at home to Leigh Leopards. They remain just outside the top six going into this weekend, one point behind Hull FC.

Wigan made it eight straight victories last weekend to stay right on Hull KR’s tail at the top of the table. However, they only just scraped their 18-22 win away to Huddersfield with a Jack Farrimond try in the dying seconds.

Team news

Wakefield are unchanged from last weekend’s game with Leigh.

Wigan have made one change to last weekend’s squad. In a big boost, Luke Thompson is back from injury, and he takes Harvey Makin’s place in the squad.

My prediction – Wakefield Trinity 14-22 Wigan Warriors

Wakefield will push Wigan all the way in this one, but I’m expecting the Warriors to have enough to get over them. The Huddersfield game will have given them a bit of a wake-up call that nothing can be taken for granted in Super League, so I can see them improving this week, and they’ll need to.

Betting tips

I’m going with Wigan to win by 8-14 points, at 10/3. There’s no try scorer markets open yet, but when they are, I’d get on Jai Field for an anytime score. He leads the Super League with 16 this year, and was priced at a generous 4/5 last week, so a similar price this week would be too good to turn down.

Saturday 21st June 2025 – Warrington Wolves vs Huddersfield Giants – Halliwell Jones Stadium

Form guide

Warrington suffered the infamous ‘cup hangover’ in defeat to Leeds last weekend, as they went down 36-12. That made it just one win from their last five in Super League, and they emain down in 8th – three points outside the play-off spots.

Huddersfield pushed Wigan all the way last weekend, before being cruelly denied just a second win of the season in the dying seconds. They remain 11th, and thankful that Salford are in Super League this year.

Team news

Sam Stone comes straight into the Warrington squad after arriving from Salford this week. There’s bad news for Arron Lindop though, who suffered an ACL injury against Leeds which rules him out for the rest of the year. James Harrison misses out through concussion protocols, while youngsters Zack Garder and Ewan Irwin have been named.

Huddersfield have made one change to their squad from the Wigan game last weekend. Adam Clune is ruled out through injury, with Matt Frawley taking his place. It’ll be a second Giants debut for Frawley this week, who’s arrived on loan from Leeds Rhinos just in time.

My prediction – Warrington Wolves 24-16 Huddersfield Giants

If the Giants play like they did last week, they’ll give themselves a great chance, but I can’t see them backing it up personally, and they’ll sorely miss Adam Clune in this one. Warrington are better than the table suggests, and I can see them bouncing back with a victory.

Betting tips

There aren’t many markets open for this game yet, but I like the look of Warrington to lead by 1-7 points at half-time, which is priced at 3/1. When the try scoring market opens, I’m getting on Josh Thewlis for an anytime score as well.

Saturday 21st June 2025 – Catalans Dragons vs Leigh Leopards – Stade Gilbert Brutus

Form guide

Catalans Dragons have recently become record breakers – and not for the right reasons. By the time Luke Keary crossed for a consolation try against Hull KR last week, they’d already smashed the record for longest time without a point, which ended up being three full games and 60 minutes last week. It’s unikely that Keary’s effort was celebrated too loudly in the south of France though, as the Dragons were humiliated 68-6. It’s now five straight losses for the Dragons, who’ll be looking nervously over their shoulder at Castleford Tigers in 10th. Any hopes of a play-off place look a real long shot now though.

As for Leigh, they ground out a hard-fought 20-24 win at Wakefield in front of the BBC cameras to make it back-to-back victories. They remain 4th in the table, three points clear of next-placed St. Helens.

Team news

Paul Séguier, Jordan Dezaria, Fouad Yaha, and Clément Martin all come into the Catalans squad. Reimis Smith, Tariq Sims, and Théo Fages all drop out, as well as Ben Garcia, who starts a four-game suspension for punching last weekend.

Ethan O’Neill returns for Leigh this week in place of Andrew Badrock. That’s the only change from last weekend’s victory at Wakefield.

My prediction – Catalans Dragons 6-28 Leigh Leopards

At some point I do expect the Dragons to turn things around – even if it’s just a little bit – but after last week’s humiliation, I can’t see anything changing dramatically so soon. The Leopards will be sniffing blood here, and a Leigh win looks about as certain as anything in Super League this weekend.

Betting tips

Leigh have been given just a -8 handicap, and when you consider that Catalans have lost their last four games by 40, 48, 34, and 62 points respectively, the 10/11 on this should be a shoo-in. It’s also 4/6 on Leigh in the half-time/full-time market, and that looks a good price too.

Sunday 22nd June 2025 – Salford Red Devils vs Hull FC – Salford Stadium

Form guide

It’s easier to say nothing about Salford at this point, although in fairness they always have a dig and never give up. Their latest loss came in a 4-46 defeat at home to St. Helens, which made it 13 defeats from 14 games. They’re still five points short of a century in Super League this year too.

Hull FC suffered something of a surprise 14-22 defeat at home to Castleford last weekend after back-to-back victories. They remain in the top six though – a point clear of Wakefield.

Team news

Squads haven’t been announced yet, but Salford lost another player this week, as Sam Stone moved to Warrington. On the plus side, Dan Russell and Tom Whitehead arrived from the Wire on loan, and they’ll probably go straight into the siide this week.

Youngsters Joe Ward and Lennon Clark have left Hull FC on loan this week. They remain without Will Pryce due to injury as well. John Asiata , meanwhile, has started training again, but this week is likely to come too soon for him.

John Asiata is back in training for Hull FC.

My prediction – Salford Red Devils 4-32 Hull FC

As always with Salford, it’s a case of how many they’ll concede. The Black and Whites head into this game with just a +3 points difference, so they’ll be keen to boost that before the business end of the year.

Betting tips

As is customary with Salford games, there are no markets open yet. However, anything over a -20 handicap should be safe for Hull FC and I’d be backing Lewis Martin in the anytime try scorer market again. Don’t expect great odds on either though.
