NRL 2026 – Round 10 preview, predictions and tips
We’re already into Round 10 this weekend, and Origin’s right around the corner. Melbourne’s meltdown continues, the Dragons finally got two points (from a bye), and Penrith continue to motor along.
And what about the Bulldogs? My Premiership tip for 2026 have lost five of their last six, with even a Finals spot looking doubtful at the moment.
They’re kicking off the round this week to take on a Dolphins side with their own struggles…

Thursday 7th May – The Dolphins vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Form guide
After four straight losses, the Dolphins bounced back with a 28-20 win over struggling Melbourne in Round Nine. The victory lifted them to 11th on the ladder with a 3-5 record.
The Bulldogs are one place below with an identical 3-5 record. Their 28-12 loss to the Cowboys last weekend was their fifth loss in their last six games.
Team news
Two big returns for the Dolphins this week, with Kodi Nikorima and Jeremy Marshall-King named on the bench. Kurt Donoghoe drops out of the squad.
No changes to the Bulldogs’ starting side this week. Harry Hayes and Sean O’Sullivan replace Kurt Mann and Jake Turpin on the bench after both were ruled out.
My prediction – The Dolphins 32-24 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Whichever way this one goes, I’m expecting it to be high scoring. The Bulldogs are more than capable of bouncing back with a win here, but on current form, I can’t see them gtting the victory here.
Betting tips
I can see this being high scoring, so I’m straight on over 49.5 points, which is 5/6. Jack Bostock made a tryscoring return last week, and he’s 11/10 for another anytime score, which looks good to me.
Friday 8th May – Sydney Roosters vs Gold Coast Titans
Form guide
The Roosters are on a five-game winning streak after last week’s 38-24 victory over the Broncos. They’ve moved up to 3rd on the ladder.
The Titans were beaten 28-12 by the Raiders last weekend. They’ve dropped to 14th with a 2-6 record.
Team news
Mark Nawaqanitawase and Lindsay Collins are ruled out for the Roosters this week. Cody Ramsey will start on the wing and Spencer Leniu comes into the starting side, while Taylor Losalu and Benaiah Ioelu join the bench.
Roosters team: 1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Hugo Savala 4. Robert Toia 5. Cody Ramsey 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Sam Walker 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Reece Robson 10. Spencer Leniu 11. Angus Crichton 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley 14. Connor Watson 15. Egan Butcher 16. Nat Butcher 17. Salesi Foketi 18. Taylor Losalu 19. Benaiah Ioelu 20. Fetalaiga Pauga 21. Reece Foley 22. Billy Smith
Zane Harrison will make his NRL debut for the Titans this week, with Lachlan Ilias dropped to the reserves. There’s also an NRL debut for Jensen Taumoepeau, with Siale Faeamani ruled out.
My prediction – Sydney Roosters 48-12 Gold Coast Titans
Anything other than a comfortable home win would be a surprise here. The Titans might go a bit closer than this, but the Chooks should win by double figures at least.
Betting tips
I’m taking the -18 Roosters handicap, which is 10/11. I like the look of Roosters to win by 13+ and over 54.5 points in the game, which is a 6/4 double.
Friday 8th May – North Queensland Cowboys vs Parramatta Eels
Form guide
The Cowboys have won six of their last seven games to climb to 6th on the ladder. They beat the Bulldogs 28-12 in Sydney last week.
The Eels were beaten 36-14 at home by the Warriors last weekend. That was their sixth loss of the year and leaves them in 15th.
Team news
Jeremiah Nanai drops out through injury for the Cowboys. Sam McIntyre replaces him in the starting team, with Xavier Kerrisk joining the six-man bench. He’ll make his NRL debut if he comes on.
Ryley Smith and Will Penisini are out for the Eels. Tallyn Da Silva and Jordan Samrani come into the starting side.
Eels team: 1. Joash Papali’i 2. Brian Kelly 3. Jordan Samrani 4. Sean Russell 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Ronald Volkman 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Luca Moretti 9. Tallyn Da Silva 10. Junior Paulo 11. Kelma Tuilagi 12. Jack Williams 13. Jack de Belin 14. Dylan Walker 15. Saxon Pryke 16. Toni Mataele 17. Charlie Guymer 18. Apa Twidle 19. Teancum Brown 20. Jezaiah Funa-Luta 21. Araz Nanva 22. Lorenzo Talataina
My prediction – North Queensland Cowboys 36-16 Parramatta Eels
The Cowboys are in fine form, while the Eels have been struggling. It’s hard to see anything other than a routine home win here.
Betting tips
The Cowboys should be safe with a -10 handicap at 10/11. It’s 11/10 for a 13+ winning margin, and I’m backing that as well.
Saturday 9th May – St George Illawarra Dragons vs Newcastle Knights
Form guide
The Dragons finally got two points last weekend, but only because it was a bye round. They remain rock bottom with zero wins.
Meanwhile, the Knights halted a three-game losing streak with a tight 42-38 win over the Rabbitohs. That victory lifted them to 10th.
Team news
Clint Gutherson is back for the Dragons in a big boost this week. There’s also a return for Dylan Egan from an ACL injury. He replaces the suspended Luciano Leilua, while Tyrell Sloan drops to the bench to make way for Gutho.
Harrison Graham joins the six-man bench for the Knights, who are otherwise unchanged.

My prediction – St George Illawarra Dragons 12-26 Newcastle Knights
The week off might have done the Dragons some good and given them a chance to reset. However, I can only go on form, and based on that, I’m expecting a fairly comfortable afternoon for Newcastle.
Betting tips
Dylan Brown looks a generous 5/2 for an anytime try. I’m backing Bradman Best at 1/1 as well.
Saturday 9th May – South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Cronulla Sharks
Form guide
The Rabbitohs’ 42-38 loss to the Knights last week means they remain 4th on the ladder, with a 5-3 record.
The Sharks hammered the Tigers 52-10 last week, which has seen them climb into the top eight with a 4-4 record.
Team news
Ashton Ward replaces Jamie Humphreys for the Rabbitohs this week, with Humphreys dropping to the bench. Jye Gray is also back in place of Matt Dufty at fullback. Ed Kosi comes in for the injured Jack Wighton as well.
Rabbitohs team: 1. Jye Gray 2. Alex Johnston 3. Latrell Mitchell 4. Campbell Graham 5. Edward Kosi 6. Cody Walker 7. Ashton Ward 8. Keaon Koloamatangi 9. Bronson Garlick 10. Sean Keppie 11. Euan Aitken 12. Tallis Duncan 13. Cameron Murray 14. Matthew Dufty 15. Lachlan Hubner 16. Jamie Humphreys 17. Tevita Tatola 18. Peter Mamouzelos 19. Adam Elliott 20. Liam Le Blanc 21. Moala Graham-Taufa 22. Thomas Fletcher
Braden Hamlin-Uele comes onto the Sharks’ bench. They’re otherwise unchanged.
Sharks team: 1. William Kennedy 2. Mawene Hiroti 3. Siosifa Talakai 4. KL Iro 5. Samuel Stonestreet 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Toby Rudolf 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes 14. Jesse Colquhoun 15. Billy Burns 16. Oregon Kaufusi 17. Thomas Hazelton 18. Hohepa Puru 19. Braden Hamlin-Uele 20. Riley Jones 21. Niwhai Puru 22. Chris Veaila
My prediction – South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-16 Cronulla Sharks
This game really could go either way, but I’m backing the Bunnies to bounce back after a disappointing loss in Round Nine.
Betting tips
Souths have been given a -2 handicap, so I’ll be straight on that at 10/11. I’m backing a 1-12 winning margin too, which is 21/10.
Saturday 9th May – Manly Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos
Form guide
Manly were narrowly beaten 18-16 by the Panthers in Round Nine, having won their previous four games. They dropped to 7th with that loss.
The Broncos heroic comeback fell short against the Roosters last week, as they were beaten 38-24. They’ve dropped to 9th.
Team news
Jamal Fogarty returns for Manly this week. Former Bronco Kobe Hetherington is ruled out after suffering a head knock against the Panthers.

The Broncos have lost Adam Reynolds, Kotoni Staggs and Deine Mariner from last week’s defeat to the Roosters. Tom Duffy, Jesse Arthars and Antonio Verhoeven come into the starting side. Preston Riki is back on the bench after suspension, while Ben Hunt is in the extended squad as he eyes an early return from injury.
My prediction – Manly Sea Eagles 20-28 Brisbane Broncos
I’m struggling to decide which way this one will go, but I’m just tipping the Premiers. Brisbane have some big names missing, but when that happened against the Bulldogs a couple of weeks ago, the fringe players stepped up, so I’m backing them to do the same again this week.
Betting tips
Manly are slight favourites, so I’m getting straight on a Brisbane victory at 6/5. I think it’ll be close either way, so I’m backing the 1-12 winning margin at 23/10 as well.
Sunday 10th May – Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers
Form guide
These are unprecedented times for the Storm, who made it seven straight losses last weekend. They were beaten 28-10 by the Dolphins to remain 16th.
The Tigers suffered a heavy defeat of their own, as they were thrashed 52-10 by the Sharks. That loss means they’ve dropped to 5th on the ladder.
Team news
Jahrome Hughes is back for Melbourne to replace the injured Tyran Wishart. Youngster Stanley Huen is named on the bench for what would be an NRL debut.
Storm team: 1. Sualauvi Fa’alogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Nick Meaney 5. Hugo Peel 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Shawn Blore 12. Ativalu Lisati 13. Trent Loiero 14. Trent Toelau 15. Joe Chan 16. Davvy Moale 17. Cooper Clarke 18. Stanley Huen 19. Manaia Waitere 20. Jack Hetherington 21. Lazarus Vaalepu 22. Moses Leo
The Tigers have made a few changes to the side that was thrashed by Cronulla in Round Nine. Kai Pearce-Paul is back from a concussion to replace Samuela Fainu. Patrick Herbert replaces Starford Toa, Jock Madden steps in for the injured Adam Doueihi, while Heath Mason comes in at fullback. Mavrik Geyer has been named on the six-man bench, and will make his Tigers debut if he comes on.
My prediction – Melbourne Storm 12-20 Wests Tigers
I keep backing Melbourne to bounce back and they keep letting me down, so I’m going against them this week. I’m not entirely convinced after the Tigers’ loss last week, but ordinarily a team that’s lost seven straight against a team who are 5th should be a foregone conclusion, so I’m going with my head this week.
Betting tips
Incredibly the Storm have been given a -4 handicap here, so I’m getting straight on a Tigers win at 7/5. I have a feeling this won’t be a particularly high scoring game either, so I’m backing under 55.5 points, which is 10/11.
Sunday 10th May – Canberra Raiders vs Penrith Panthers
Form guide
The Raiders won 28-12 at the Titans last week to climb to 13th. They’re 4-5 for the year, with their first bye round next weekend.
The Panthers just squeezed past Manly in Round Nine, in an 18-16 win. They’re 8-1 and sit top of the ladder, but only by two points.
Team news
The Raiders welcome Ethan Strange back from injury, which sees Daine Laurie drop to the bench. Hudson Young returns from suspension in place of Joe Roddy.
Raiders team: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 3. Sebastian Kris 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Jed Stuart 6. Ethan Strange 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Tom Starling 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Simi Sasagi 13. Jayden Brailey 14. Owen Pattie 15. Daine Laurie 16. Ata Mariota 17. Morgan Smithies 18. Chevy Stewart 19. Jordan Uta 20. Ethan Alaia 21. Jake Clydsdale 22. Sione Finau
Jack Cole replaces the suspended Jack Cogger on the Panthers’ bench. Liam Henry also comes into the 19 after injury. The starting side remains unchanged from last weekend.
Panthers team: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Paul Alamoti 4. Casey McLean 5. Brian To’o 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Luke Garner 13. Isaah Yeo 14. Jack Cole 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Liam Henry 17. Izack Tago 18. Billy Phillips 19. Billy Scott 20. Kalani Going 21. Sione Fonua 22. Luron Patea
My prediction – Canberra Raiders 12-28 Penrith Panthers
I can’t see past the Panthers in this one. They’ve been superb this year, and they’ll fancy their chances of going 9-1 this weekend against a Canberra side who haven’t fired on all cylinders.
Betting tips
I’m tipping the Raiders for under 19.5 points, which is 10/11. Casey McLean is also a good price at 1/1 for an anytime try.
