Jared Waerea-Hargreaves heading to Super League
Hull KR have announced the signing of New Zealand international, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves on a one-year deal from 2025.
The 35-year-old prop has played just shy of 300 matches in the NRL with Manly Sea Eagles and Sydney Roosters, and will add a wealth of experience to the Robins pack.
Waerea-Hargreaves’ close friendship with fellow Kiwi Shaun Kenny-Dowall is thought to have swung the move in Hull KR’s favour. Kenny-Dowall was a teammate of his with the Roosters and New Zealand for a number of years, before a successful four-season spell in Yorkshire, and he’s now a member of the Robins’ coaching staff.
JWH recently announced that he would be departing the Roosters at the end of 2024, which will be his 15th season with the Chooks. In that time, he’s won three Premierships, and on top of that he’s been capped 33 times by the Kiwis as well.
