NRL 2026 – Round 14 preview, predictions and tips

NRL 2026 – Round 14 preview, predictions and tips

Another week, another Dragons Broncos loss. Round 13 threw up a couple of surprises, with the Dragons finally ending a 15-game losing run and the Roosters going down to a Melbourne side who are well outside the top eight.

The big news this week though is the permanent appointment of Kieran Foran at Manly. With seven wins from his nine games in interim charge, his full-time contract was a no-brainer. Good luck to Foz in his first head coach role (although not too much luck this week when his side kick off against my beloved Bunnies)…

Thursday 4th June – Manly Sea Eagles vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

Form guide

Manly were beaten 28-22 by the Sharks in Round 13, which ended a run of three straight wins. They’ve dropped to 5th with that loss.

The Rabbitohs had a bye in Round 13, but their 30-18 loss to the Cowboys the previous week was their third in their last four games. They’re 6th heading into this weekend.

Team news

Haumole Olakau’atu returns for Manly after being rested last week, while Tolu Koula is good to go after a head knock. Josh Feledy and Jackson Shereb move to the bench and Ethan Bullemor drops out.

The Rabbitohs welcome David Fifita, Brandon Smith and Campbell Graham back this week. Adam Elliott and Talanoa Penitani have both been ruled out.

Rabbitohs team: 1. Jye Gray 2. Alex Johnston 3. Latrell Siegwalt 4. Campbell Graham 5. Edward Kosi 6. Cody Walker 7. Ashton Ward 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Brandon Smith 10. Keaon Koloamatangi 11. David Fifita 12. Tallis Duncan 13. Cameron Murray 14. Lachlan Hubner 15. Jamie Humphreys 16. Euan Aitken 17. Sean Keppie 18. Matthew Dufty 19. Liam Le Blanc 20. Moala Graham-Taufa 21. Bronson Garlick 22. Thomas Fletcher

David Fifita is back for the first time since Round Six for the Rabbitohs.

My prediction – Manly Sea Eagles 24-16 South Sydney Rabbitohs

This could be a close one, but I’m leaning towards Manly. They’ll be on a high after the permanent appointment of Kieran Foran as head coach, and they come into this game in better form than the Bunnies.

Betting tips

I can see this being close, so I’m backing Manly to win by 1-12 points, which is 21/10. I’ll also back them with a -4 handicap at 10/11.

Friday 5th June – Melbourne Storm vs Newcastle Knights

Form guide

Melbourne picked up arguably their best win of a turbulent year last weekend, as they saw off the Roosters, 18-4. They’ve climbed to 13th with that victory.

Meanwhile, the Knights’ impressive campaign continued with a 28-22 win over the Eels in Round 13. That was their fourth win in a row, and it’s seen them jump into 4th on the ladder.

Team news

Manaia Waitere replaces Nick Meaney for the Storm, while Shawn Blore is back on the extended bench.

Storm team: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Manaia Waitere 5. Moses Leo 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Cooper Clarke 12. Ativalu Lisati 13. Trent Loiero 14. Trent Toelau 15. Alec MacDonald 16. Jack Hetherington 17. Josiah Pahulu 18. Joe Chan 19. Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown 20. Shawn Blore 21. Keagan Russell-smith 22. Angus Hinchey

Melbourne downed the Roosters last week for a third win in four games.

Sandon Smith is ruled out for the Knights. Francis Manuleleua joins the six-man bench, which promotes Fletcher Hunt to the starting side.

My prediction – Melbourne Storm 18-10 Newcastle Knights

I’m so torn in this one. Everything so far this year is tipping me towards the Knights, and yet I still can’t go against Mebourne at AAMI Park. They’ve picked up in recent weeks, and might just edge this.

Betting tips

I’m backing Melbourne to score first, lead at half-time and win, which is a tidy 13/8. And although the odds aren’t amazing at 4/6, I can’t ignore Sua Fa’alogo for an anytime try again.

Friday 5th June – Canberra Raiders vs Sydney Roosters

Form guide

The Raiders beat the Cowboys 26-12 last weekend to bounce back from two straight losses. They remain 12th heading into this weekend.

The Roosters suffered an 18-4 loss to Melbourne last week, but they remain in 3rd.

Team news

The Raiders have lost Seb Kris to concussion, so Jayden Brailey’s return is timely. Joe Roddy is back from injury and joins the bench.

Raiders team: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 3. Daine Laurie 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Tom Starling 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Zac Hosking 13. Jayden Brailey 14. Owen Pattie 15. Ata Mariota 16. Morgan Smithies 17. Jed Stuart 18. Chevy Stewart 19. Joseph Roddy 20. Coby Black 21. Vena Patuki-Case 22. Ethan Alaia

Jayden Brailey is back for Canberra this week.

The Roosters are unchanged, although Mark Nawaqanitawase is back in the extended squad after injury.

Roosters team: 1. James Tedesco 2. Billy Smith 3. Hugo Savala 4. Robert Toia 5. Cody Ramsey 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Sam Walker 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Reece Robson 10. Lindsay Collins 11. Angus Crichton 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley 14. Connor Watson 15. Spencer Leniu 16. Nat Butcher 17. Salesi Foketi 18. Reece Foley 19. Egan Butcher 20. Benaiah Ioelu 21. Tom Rodwell 23. Mark Nawaqanitawase

The Roosters were beaten by Melbourne last week.

My prediction – Canberra Raiders 12-20 Sydney Roosters

The Raiders picked up an impressive win last week, but I’m backing the Roosters to bounce back from defeat in Melbourne. This is another game that could go either way, but I’m leaning towards the Chooks.

Betting tips

I’m happy to back the Roosters with a -2 handicap at 10/11. Hugo Savala is well-priced at 7/5 for an anytime try as well.

Saturday 6th June – North Queensland Cowboys vs The Dolphins

Form guide

The Cowboys suffered a disappointing 26-12 loss to the Raiders last week, which has seen them drop to 9th.

The Dolphins had a bye last weekend, but they’ve won their last four games to sit in 7th.

Team news

Reuben Cotter returns for the Cowboys after being rested post-Origin. Soni Luke comes back into the 19 as well.

The Dolphins have Herbie Farnworth and Kodi Nikorima back from injuries in a huge double boost. Felise Kaufusi and Brad Schneider drop to the bench.

My prediction – North Queensland Cowboys 18-26 The Dolphins

I like the look of the Dolphins in this one. They’ve got some big names back, they’re well rested after their bye and they’re in great form.

Betting tips

I can’t see the Dolphins running away with this, so I’m backing the 1-12 winning margin at 23/10. Herbie Farnworth is my anytime tryscorer pick as well, at 10/11.

Saturday 6th June – Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans

Form guide

The Broncos suffered an embarassing 30-26 loss to the winless Dragons last week, which made it four defeats in a row. The reigning Premiers are down in 11th.

The Titans had a bye in Round 13, which game them a welcome break from their five-game losing run. They’re down in 16th.

Team news

Gehamat Shibasaki and Pat Carrigan are ruled out for the Broncos, so Grant Anderson and Jack Gosiewski come into the starting side. Ezra Mam has been dropped to the bench with Thomas Duffy taking his place in the halves. Aublix Tawha and Hayze Perham have joined the bench.

Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Jojo Fifita return from Origin duty for the Titans. Lachlan Ilias and Adam Christensen drop out of the squad.

Titans team: 1. Keano Kini 2. Jenson Taumoepeau 3. Jojo Fifita 4. AJ Brimson 5. Phillip Sami 6. Jayden Campbell 7. Zane Harrison 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Oliver Pascoe 10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 11. Arama Hau 12. Beau Fermor 13. Cooper Bai 14. Kurtis Morrin 15. Josh Patston 16. Chris Randall 17. Klese Haas 18. Jaylan De Groot 19. Luke Sommerton 20. Tony Francis 21. Bodhi Sharpley 22. Lachlan Ilias

Titans skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is back after Origin.

My prediction – Brisbane Broncos 38-16 Gold Coast Titans

I was left with egg on my face by the Broncos last week, but that won’t stop me backing them again here. They’re a far better team than the Titans and they’ll have been given a rocket up the backside this week. A loss wouldn’t surprise me as much as it should, but I’m tipping them to bounce back.

Betting tips

The Broncos should be ok with a -8 handicap at 10/11. Kotoni Staggs is too good to pass up for an anytime try at 11/10 as well.

Sunday 7th June – Wests Tigers vs Penrith Panthers

Form guide

After three straight losses, the Tigers bounced back with a 20-16 win over the Bulldogs last week to stay 10th.

The Panthers grinded out an impressive 20-18 win over the Warriors without their Origin stars to move four points clear at the top of the ladder.

Team news

Mavrik Geyer and Charlie Murray replace Sione Fainu and Alex Twal for the Tigers. Ethan Roberts and Bunty Afoa join the six-man bench.

Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Brian To’o are back for the Panthers after their post-Origin rest. Jack Cogger, Liam Henry and Izack Tago drop to the bench. Jack Cole joins them this week, but Billy Phillips, Luron Patea and Billy Scott drop out of the 19.

Panthers team: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Paul Alamoti 4. Casey McLean 5. Brian To’o 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo 14. Jack Cogger 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Liam Henry 17. Izack Tago 18. Luke Garner 19. Jack Cole 20. Billy Phillips 21. Billy Scott 22. Luron Patea

Nathan Cleary is one of three Origin stars returning for the Panthers this week.

My prediction – Wests Tigers 12-18 Penrith Panthers

The Tigers have been a thorn in the side of Penrith in recent years, but I’d expect the Panthers to win this 99/100, especially given their current form.

Betting tips

Casey McLean is the best-priced of the likely anytime tryscorers at 4/5. I’ll also get on the Panthers to score first, lead at half-time and win, which is 5/6.

Sunday 7th June – Cronulla Sharks vs St George Illawarra Dragons

Form guide

The Sharks picked up a 28-22 win over Manly last week to make it back-to-back victories. They’ve climbed into the top eight as well.

The Dragons finally ended a 15-game losing run stretching back to 2025 with a gutsy 30-26 win over the Broncos in Round 13. They remain bottom of the ladder, but they have the Titans in their sights.

Team news

Briton Nikora is back after a post-Origin rest for the Sharks. Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey are both ruled out, but KL Iro and Sione Katoa are back in the extended squad after injury.

Sharks team: 1. William Kennedy 2. Samuel Stonestreet 3. Jesse Ramien 4. Mawene Hiroti 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Niwhai Puru 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Jayden Berrell 10. Toby Rudolf 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes 14. Siosifa Talakai 15. Billy Burns 16. Jesse Colquhoun 17. Thomas Hazelton 18. Hohepa Puru 19. Oregon Kaufusi 20. Riley Jones 21. KL Iro 22. Sione Katoa

Nicho Hynes is ruled out for the Sharks this week.

The Dragons have Jacob Liddle available again, while Jaydn Su’A is back in the extended squad after injury as well. Tyrell Sloan drops out of the 19.

My prediction – Cronulla Sharks 34-12 St George Illawarra Dragons

I’m not being fooled by the Dragons’ win last week. Yes, they were impressive, but the Broncos were woeful and I can’t see Cronulla making the same mistake here.

Betting tips

I’m happy to back the Sharks with a -12 hanidcap at 10/11. They’re 1/1 to win by 13+ as well, which I’ll be taking.

Monday 8th June – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels

Form guide

After a brief reprieve in Round 12, the Bulldogs were beaten again last week by the Tigers. That made it six defeats in seven games, and it’s seen them drop to 14th.

The Eels aren’t doing much better, and their 28-22 loss to the Knights was a fourth in five games. They’ve dropped to 15th.

Team news

Sean O’Sullivan and Logan Spinks replace Lipoi Hopoi and Jonathan Sua on the bench in the only changes this week for the Bulldogs.

Ryley Smith is back in the extended squad for the Eels, while Teancum Brown replaces Charlie Guymer on the six-man bench.

The Eels were beaten for the eighth time this year in last weekend’s defeat to the Knights.

My prediction – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 18-8 Parramatta Eels

The Bulldogs are making me look really bad after I tipped them for the Premiership this year, but I’m still backing them again in this one. They have the stronger side and at some point I can see things clicking.

Betting tips

I’ll back the Bulldogs with a -4 handicap at 10/11. Bronson Xerri is also a good price for an anytime try at 13/10.
