Super League 2026 – Round 24 preview, predictions and tips
So, Castleford have lost their head coach less than a year into a three-year deal, St Helens have appointed the Kangaroos head coach and Mikey Lewis has picked up a two-match ban. Just another typical week in Super League then.
On the pitch, things have suddenly got very interesting too. Wigan have moved level on points with Leeds, and hopefully it stays that way for their showdown in a couple of week’s time.
Huddersfield have finally moved off the bottom of the table as one of three sides sitting on 12 points. And, despite the top six looking done and dusted, St Helens roared back with a thumping win over Wakefield last week to send a strong reminder that we should never write them off.
It should be a cracking weekend yet again. Here’s how I see it panning out…
- Friday 21st August – Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity
- Friday 21st August – Leigh Leopards vs Bradford Bulls
- Saturday 22nd August – St Helens vs Castleford Tigers
- Saturday 22nd August – Hull KR vs Toulouse Olympique
- Saturday 22nd August – Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC
- Sunday 23rd August – Warrington Wolves vs Huddersfield Giants
- Sunday 23rd August – York Knights vs Leeds Rhinos

Friday 21st August – Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity
Form guide
Wigan have fit form at just the right time for a Grand Final push. Their 34-6 win at Bradford last week was their 11th in a row in Super League, and their 12th overall. They’re now level on points with Leeds Rhinos.
On the flip side, Wakefield’s form is dipping at just the wrong time. They were hammered 46-16 at home by St Helens last week, which saw them drop to 4th.
Team news
My prediction – Wigan Warriors 36-24 Wakefield Trinity
This should be a great game between two sides slugging ot out near the top. Althugh Wakefield have lost their last two, they’re still likely to pose a big threat to Wigan, but with the form the home side are in, I can’t see them letting it slip here.
Betting tips
Jake Wardle is well priced at 5/4 for an anytime try. I like the look of over 8.5 tries in this game as well, which is 11/10.
Friday 21st August – Leigh Leopards vs Bradford Bulls
Form guide
The Leopards pulled off a superb 20-16 win at Leeds last week to further cement their place in the top six. They remain four points clear of St Helens.
Bradford’s 34-6 home loss to Wigan saw them drop to the foot of the table. It was their ninth defeat in 10 games.
Team news
My prediction – Leigh Leopards 38-10 Bradford Bulls
Leigh should pick up a fairly routine two points here. Bradford ran out of gas a few weeks ago, and they look like a team who can’t wait for the season to come to a close.
Betting tips
Umyla Hanley looks the best value for an anytime try at 4/5. Leigh should be ok with a -26 handicap as well, at 10/11.
Saturday 22nd August – St Helens vs Castleford Tigers
Form guide
St Helens pulled off a shock 46-16 win at Wakefield last week to breathe some life back into their season. They remain four points outside the play-off spots.
Castleford bounced back from three straight defeats to beat Hull FC 18-14. That saw them climb up to 9th, just two points behind Catalans.
Team news
My prediction – St Helens 24-10 Castleford Tigers
After last week’s victory, I expect Saints to back it up with another win here. The Tigers did well in their win at Hull, but Saints still have something to play for and Cas don’t.
Betting tips
Tristan Sailor looks good value at 13/10 for an anytime try. I can’t see Saints running away with this, so I’m backing the 8-14 winning margin at 7/2.
Saturday 22nd August – Hull KR vs Toulouse Olympique
Form guide
Hull KR were beaten 34-28 by Warrington on Tuesday to end a run of three straight wins. They remain in 5th, with a four-point cushion to St Helens in 7th.
Toulouse’s form has fallen off a cliff in recent weeks, and their 26-10 loss at home to Huddersfield last weekend was their fourth in a row. They’ve dropped a place to 10th after that defeat.
Team news
Toulouse haven’t announced their squad yet.
My prediction – Hull KR 36-6 Toulouse Olympique
I’m expecting the Robins to bounce back with a win here. For most of the season they’ve fallen well short of the standards they set last year, but they should win this without too many issues.
Betting tips
Hull KR should be safe with a -20 handicap at 10/11. Jez Litten is well-priced at 9/4 for an anytime try as well.
Saturday 22nd August – Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC
Form guide
Catalans remain 8th, despite a seventh defeat in eight games last week. They were beaten 28-10 by Hull KR in their latest loss.
Hull FC were beaten 18-14 at home by Castleford last week, but they remain 12th.
Team news
My prediction – Catalans Dragons 18-14 Hull FC
This is a horrible game to predict between two sides whose seasons finished weeks ago. It’s a toss of a coin to me, but as they’re at home and six points better off, I’m backing the Dragons.
Betting tips
Harvey Barron is 13/10 for an anytime try, which is far too tempting to pass up. There’s not much else appealing to me, so I’ll try an outside punt and get on a draw/Catalans in the half-time/full-time market, which is 12/1.
Sunday 23rd August – Warrington Wolves vs Huddersfield Giants
Form guide
Warrington completed a league double over Hull KR on Tuesday with a 34-28 win. It was their fourth victory in a row, and they’re now up in 3rd.
Huddersfield continued their remarkable run of form with a 26-10 win over Toulouse last weekend. It was their fourth win in a row, and it saw them finally climb off the bottom into 13th.
Team news
Squads haven’t been announced yet, but Warrington lost Josh Thewlis and Toafofoa Sipley to injuries on Tuesday night, so it’d be a surprise to see them feature.
Huddersfield will be without Zane Dunford for the rest of the year after he underwent shoulder surgery. Otheriwse, the squad should look pretty similar to last weekend.
My prediction – Warrington Wolves 28-14 Huddersfield Giants
The Wire should have too much for the Giants here, despite Huddersfield’s upturn in form.
Betting tips
There are no markets open at all yet, which seems odd. If and when they do, I’ll back Albert Hopoate and George Williams for anytime tries.
Sunday 23rd August – York Knights vs Leeds Rhinos
Form guide
The Knights were beaten 30-10 at Warrington last weekend to suffer a fourth defeat in five games. They’ve dropped to 11th following Castleford’s win at Hull.
Leeds suffered their first home defeat of the season, as they were beaten 20-16 by Leigh Leopards. They remain top, but only on points difference.
Team news
Paul Vaughan and Nikau Williams are both doubts for York after leaving the field early last week.
Jack Bird failed his HIA for Leeds in their loss to Leigh, so he’s definitely out this week.
My prediction – York Knights 10-30 Leeds Rhinos
This should be a fairly routine victory for Leeds. York’s race is run in 2026, and the Rhinos need to keep winning if they’re going to finish top of the pile.
Betting tips
There aren’t many markets open yet, but I’ll back Brodie Croft and Lachie Miller for anytime tries when the market opens.
