Hull FC 2025 season preview
2024 recap
Hull had a shocker of a year in 2024, with very little to shout about. Just three wins from 27 games saw them finish second-bottom, and the only saving grace was that London Broncos’ mostly part-time squad were in the division as well.
2024 position: 11th

Players to watch
Jordan Rapana has arrived from the NRL with a big reputation and a stellar career down under. At 35, his best days are behind him, but he should still be a very useful addition at fullback, and a great role model for youngster Logan Moy to follow.
Aidan Sezer is back in Super League after a one-year stint back in the NRL. The veteran halfback will captain the side this year, and with 200+ games under his belt across both competitions, he brings a huge amount of experience with him – something that was seriously lacking in 2024.
Young gun
In a year of few positives, Logan Moy was one of the youngsters to come out of the season with some credit in 2024. The 19 year-old fullback made 18 appearances for the Black and Whites last year, and although Rapana will be ahead of him to start the year, I expect to see him get a few opportunities in 2025.
Our prediction – 8th
Last year I said Hull couldn’t be as bad as they were in 2023, and they proved me spectacularly wrong, so 8th is a bold shout. The recruitment just looks stronger this year, there are several youngsters who’ll be better for getting some experience under their belts in 2024, and there’s a a new coach in the shape of John Cartwright. Despite all that, I still can;t see them cracking the top six, but a couple of places up the table is a must, surely.
